Millennium Phoenix Baseball Ready to Rise Again

The Millennium Phoenix Baseball team is preparing for its new season which will be starting March 28th. Being in the AAA league the boys will be playing the best the city has to offer. Triple A features the top teams in the city based on performance.

The baseball team has high expectations this season but luckily this isn’t something the boys aren’t used to by now. “José Moronta,” a senior on the team said that “expectations are always high, coach is always expecting to give our best every time we step out on the field.”

The weather will decides where you can find the team practices and so far it’s been too cold for the team to be able to go practice outside; for now you can find them in the Millennium Brooklyn gym where they practice hitting, pitching, catching, and do their conditioning before the season starts.

In the gym, you can find co-coach Brian Friedman. At these practices Friedman has said that he “allows his pitchers to practice new pitches” so they’re game ready and aren’t afraid to use them in game. When asked about expectations for the new season Coach Friedman’s answer was short “compete and over prepare” Last year the boys were able to make it to playoffs with a record of 7-9 and, coming in fifth of their division. The boys are looking for a better season than last.
