College Countdown

National college decision day is approaching and seniors need to make a decision on which college they will be attending. Seniors are entering their final wave of high school and will soon explore their life while being surrounded in a completely different environment and atmosphere. They are extremely stoked for starting a new chapter and meeting new people. Senior Caliph Muhammad stated, “Although things will be completely different, We are still going to look back at our high school memories and talk about how much we learned and prepared for our college lives.”

College can be overwhelming to think about because of all the changes that will occur very shortly. It’s never easy to transition from place to place, but learning to adapt in a new environment is always helpful in the long run. Students should be thanking whoever it was that helped them achieve greatness, and get to where they are now, whether its a counselor, teacher, parent or other mentors. A well written letter or even an email can show your appreciation for that particular person.

It’s really important to get connected to your college and begin the admission process. Students have the ability to maintain a Facebook group with all the incoming freshman/students that will be attending in the fall. Students who are dorming and don’t have roommates yet should reach out to the students via email or Facebook and get to know them.
The Seniors at MBHS are very excited to move on to bigger and better things, Senior at MBHS, Pauline Kern stated “I’m extremely nervous to meet my roommates, but also very excited for the new relationships that I will form, hopefully for the rest of my life.” So get ready to experience new learning environments, meet new friends.
