On Friday May 5th, MBHS hosted its first art exhibit gallery located on 166 7th Sstreet between Second and Third Avenue.

The event, organized by art teachers Caryn Davidson and Mark Robinson, displayed the work of MBHS students which consisted of paintings, drawings, photographs, graphic design prints, and films. The artwork displayed was created by seniors in the Art Portfolio class as well as 9th graders taking art class.

When asked about how the students prepared for the exhibit, Ms. Davidson responded with “Mr. Robinson had a vision last year of a student-led exhibition that would involve students seeking out a space and curating an art show. He did a lot of work himself to find the space, and then we asked students in Photography Club and Art Club if they’d be interested in setting up the show.”

In addition, MBHS senior and winner of the photo contest  described the event as “… really great because it displayed different art forms and lots of people went and they seemed to really enjoy it.”

For those that not able to participate in the event will have another opportunity the upcoming school year where all students will be able to submit their work.
