As spring arrives and the weather improves, flea markets will begin to open up in April all over Brooklyn allowing people to go on the weekend and buy all types of unique items.

Not only can people go shopping but they can also interact with people of all cultures. New York City is a cultural melting pot which gives everyone the chance to learn more about others and make new friends.

Senior Manny Merino thinks, “I feel that it’s really good thing where it brings people from different corners of your neighborhood and entwines them into a community. I feel I would go to one cause people usually find some cool stuff in it.” Students can and should take advantage of this opportunity that they have, especially living in a city such as New York.

According to the Brooklyn Flea, “Travel + Leisure, Country Living, Budget Travel, and Fodor’s have ranked the Flea one of the best markets in the U.S. and the world” demonstrating how large of an attraction the markets are each weekend during the months of April through October.
