Students all over MBHS are crazy about cartoons and no one seems to have any idea why.

It’s a question parents are always asking: “Why do you still watch cartoons?” However, no one seems to be able to give a clear answer. The internet gives minimal answers and there seems to be no psychological paper to be found on the subject. Even being an owner of excessive amounts of Adventure Time memorabilia, I couldn’t give myself a straight answer; thus I reached out to the student body.

To some MBHS students, cartoons are a waste of time. Students like senior Summer Carrion said they would rather watch live action shows. Other students would prefer to watch movies on Netflix. However, to many other students, cartoons are an important part of life. Junior Jasmine Goolsby stated , “I like [cartoons] because of the stories they tell and the surprises they have. They’re really fun.” Like Jasmine, students all over the school love Adventure Time and Naruto for the same reason others love watching Game of Thrones or Friends — to relax and see a good story.

So, students, whenever your parents decide to interrupt you in the middle of a half-hour special to ask you why you like it, smile and say you don’t know. Don’t let anyone put you down for watching a boy have adventures with his talking dog. Cartoons are there for you to enjoy them like any other show is, and you don’t need to be a reason to enjoy yourself.
