MBHS Students Look Forward to the Holidays

As students at Millennium Brooklyn toil at school from day to day, the one thing that helps many get through the drudgery is the knowledge that the Winter Break will come in less than a week now. Students in New York City public schools will begin their vacations starting on Christmas Eve, December 24th, and returns on January 5th  for the start of the new year. This gives them eight days off from school, the same as last year.

Mostly, students seem to want to relax during their time off, and have made a point of not keeping busy schedules. Two seniors, Arnelle Sullivan and Taslim Mohammed, say that their main activity over the break will consist of, “nothing.” While Arnelle notes that she may play tennis, Taslim says he’ll make time for video games. Katie Epstein, a freshman, says she’ll focus on getting sleep.

On the other side to this rather lethargic representation of the Millennium Brooklyn community, several students, such as Junior Chloe Carter-Davis will also be taking time out of their days to spend time with family.

Jelani Williams, another 11th grader, says, “I’ll be going to visit family in Maryland.”

Jared Hammerman, a senior, will also be traveling. “I’m not doing anything other than going to Mexico for a week to visit my stepsister,” he said.

For most students here at Millennium Brooklyn, it looks as though it will be a relaxing  vacation.
