Seniors Skating Under The Winter Night Sky

Daniel Cohen, Staff Reporter

Ms. Rogan, the drama teacher here at MBHS, is organizing a Valentine’s Day themed ice skating event for students and faculty on February 6, 2015. The event is less than 15 minutes away by foot, at the Lakeside Ice Skating Rink in Prospect Park. Unfortunately, only the senior class can attend the event, but all teachers and staff are invited. The tickets will be $20 each and will include three hours of skating time for every attendee, a pair of rented skates, and a meal consisting of a soft drink and chips as well as a choice of pizza, a pretzel or sliders.

The event has not yet been publicized to the upperclassmen. When we asked the Senior class if they had heard about the event, all of them except one had never heard about it.

This one well-informed student, Sarah Spruchman, states, “I know that my advisory knows [about the ice skating event], since Ms. Sasson came to our advisory and told us.” She adds that she didn’t know if other advisories knew, because other advisors may or may not have informed their students about the event.

Ms. Rogan’s motivation for organizing the event? In an interview, Ms. Rogan stated, “the Senior Activities Committee recommended we do a skate event.” She added, “we are looking forward to a great event with all of the MBHS seniors.” Be on the look out for the next MBHS news article.
