May 20, 2015
On Friday May 15, 2015 MBHS’s first graduating class embarked on a journey to Ellenville, New York to a enjoy a fun and relaxing weekend at Honor’s Haven Resort and Spa. Students were expected to arrive at MBHS at 9 AM and departed for the trip by 10 AM. The drive to the resort was approximately two to three hours long. Senior Taylor Morton-Lewis stated that the drive was “…extremely fun. It was time to bond with others while enjoying beautiful scenery. I was really excited when I realized that the bus had wifi.”
After arriving, students participated in various activities including swimming, hiking, paintball, horseback riding, tennis, golfing, paddle boating, basketball and dance parties well after midnight. Senior Sarah Spruchman stated that she “played handball with my friends and went swimming and relaxed in the jacuzzi.” Teachers also participated in activities. Ms. Morales and Ms. Nagano were the “beasts” of paintball, while Mr. Conway, Mr. Friedman and Coach McCarthy were pro golfers.
“I talked to people I normally don’t talk to, and I was like a mermaid in the swimming pool” said Senior Sory Kora.
Overall, the Seniors had a great time on the trip.
