MBHS has finally reached full capacity and hallway gridlock has become a huge problem.

“It’s annoying. I can’t walk down the hall without my bag hitting every student I pass,” says MBHS senior Elana Shaulova.

Some describe the problem as starting with kids in the early grades who are new to the school tending to stop in the hallways for everything from intellectual debate to tweets, while later grades are forced to grumpily maneuver around the large groups to get to class.

According to a number of students, it has gotten so bad in the past few weeks that the gym coach, Brian Friedman has taken a creative approach to getting kids to move along.  “Walk!” Coach Friedman says over and over as he maintains the hallway between classes.

One of the solutions that could be considered by the school’s administration is to stagger class end times so all four grades aren’t converging into the hallway at the same time.  But this is a complicated option because sometimes teachers have double periods or have to switch rooms.
