The Millennium Boys Basketball team is preparing to win the whole season this year. As of October 21, 2014, the Millennium boys’ basketball tryout has begun. After keeping a close watch on players, Coach Rob said “there is real potential this year, I believe they can win the chip.” Stephan Jean-Jacques, assistant coach of the team had this to say, “the guys have a great chance this year of winning. We have great guards and we’re 2nd in our division.”

Former captain of the basketball team, Elias Suarez, said “there is no chance of us losing this year. We were 15-18 last year and I was MVP last year as well.” With the confidence the Millennium team showed, we hope to see them bring home the championship this year.

It hard to believe, four years ago this team was zero for 18, they prevailed against all odds to become the team they are today. They went from an underdog team to a favored competitor of seasonal championship. However, improvements are needed to guarantee the championship this year. Stephen claims there are weaknesses they need to fix going into the season this year.

“We lack size in the paint and need to work on our transition to easy bucket to the rim,” said Jean-Jacques. “We hope to find big man this year at tryouts and develop new plays for easy buckets on transition.” Offense, weakness, and dictation are necessary for this team to prevail. Go Phoenix!
