The first girls volleyball game of the year was held on Wednesday, October 15th, 2014 in the 2nd floor gym of the John Jay Campus.

Captain Julia Gorelik lead her team to their first win of the season.

The team’s first victory took place on MBHS’ home court. Their opponents, Flushing International High School, played two sets to zero.

The score of the first two sets were 25 to 5 and 25 to 13. Talk about home court advantage. Freshman, Laurie Lee, dominated the board with multiple aces, which helped lead the Lady Phoenix to the win.
