This past week the baseball team went to Fort Pierce, Florida to work on their skills in the Florida weather.  The trip lasted five days and they stayed in a hotel nearby. While they were there they took batting practice, sprints and worked on fielding. The baseball team also played 4 scrimmages while they were down south. They won three and lost one. This shows that they will be a force to reckon with in the PSAL AAA division this year.

According to Chris Ourzdine, a junior shortstop, “I am very confident about this upcoming season. Playing in Florida this year showed us how good we are and the potential we have to win a championship”. The Baseball team is very excited to start their new year. Their first pre-season game was on March 11th at Beach Channel high school in Rockaway, New York. The first official PSAL game for the Phoenix is on March 28th, against High School of Telecommunications in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, New York at 4:00 p.m.
