MBHS’ Spirit Week has come and gone once again. This year, themes included Halloween dress-up day, Twin Day, Pajama Day, Heritage Day and Phoenix Day, and lasted from Monday, October 31st through Friday, November 4th.

When questioned, a tenth grader who asked to remain anonymous said, “I think it’s like a nice way to have a say in this chill week and have fun within the school.”

Fany Silva, a senior, said, “I love spirit week but I don’t participate because I feel like the students aren’t Involved enough  in Activities like spirit week.”

On Friday, something never seen before in MBHS happened as students came together to support the Black Lives Matter movement by wearing black and quotes from poets, journalists, and court cases.

According to the school newspaper, last year senior’s attempt to establish a new tradition, which was that the student body should wear black to support the Black lives Matter movement, didn’t work. “The event did not go as planned… However, many forgot to wear the color or were not aware of the event.”
