Seniors Hoping for a Perfect Night at Prom

As prom season is approaching, seniors are trying to gather everything together from prom tickets to prom dresses and suits to look their very best.

The Class of 2016 prom will take place at Penthouse 808 on June 8th and will start at 7 p.m. and end at 11 p.m. Prom tickets will sell at $100 per person and the deadline to buy tickets was Thursday, May 12th.

Ms. Morales, the prom coordinator, stated, “ Penthouse 808 was suggested last year because one of our staff members, Brian Friedman, had his wedding there.” Penthouse 808 is a rooftop hotel lounge located in Long Island City. A major bonus is that  from Penthouse 808 you are able to see the Manhattan skyline. She also said that seniors should look forward to the “delicious food, music and the view of the skyline at night.” According to Tripadvisor.com, Penthouse 808 is ranked three and half stars out of four. One review said that they received “good food and service!” This is a night seniors should be looking forward to.

From the seniors’ perspectives, everyone is worrying about getting their formal wear together. One senior, Jayla Cave, said that “it was stressful getting my dress together for prom and making sure it was what I wanted, but as soon as I was able to get a dress of my choice, all I think about now is wearing it and enjoying my night.” Another senior who decided to stay anonymous, said “suit shopping is something I should of done ahead of time because now I feel like everything is being rushed.”

Regardless of all the worries seniors may have about their prom wear, prom night is going to be an unforgettable night for the class of 2016. It is going to be one of the last events seniors have together as one before graduation.
