The video game community at Millennium Brooklyn High School is excited for the release of Black Ops 3 and Fallout 4.

Earlier this year, many video game companies officially announced the release dates of video games for the upcoming months before 2016. These video games include Black Ops 3, and Fallout 4.

According to VGChartz, the top ten pre-ordered games in the USA, as of the week ending on October 3rd, 2015 (from most to least) are: Black Ops 3 (XOne & PS4), Halo 5 (XOne), Tom Clancy’s The Division (PS4), Tales of Zestiria (PS4), Fallout 4 (XOne & PS4), Tom Clancy’s The Division (XOne), Uncharted 4 (PS4), Star Wars Battlefront (XOne & PS4), Xenoblade Chronicles X (WiiU), and Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4).

The majority of the video game community at MBHS show a strong interest in Black Ops 3, which is being released the 6th of this month. Black Ops 3 is an action based, first person shooter game that deploys players into a future where biotechnology has created a new breed of soldiers.

Taina Ortiz from 9th grade, when asked what video game she is most excited for responded, “I own and have played the previous Black Ops games and Advanced Warfare, and I really enjoy playing them and following the storyline”. This history of playing the series of Call of Duty games, and enjoying the storylines, seemed to be a trend with the Black Ops enthusiasts.

However Cody Maldonado, a senior, states, “I can’t wait for Zombies”. Video game developers apart of creating Black Ops 3 are bringing back Zombies, and this time it has a storyline.

Besides the new storyline and the comeback of Zombies, GameRants stated that people should be excited for: the nonlinear levels that aim to promote players to tackle objectives in new creative ways using teamwork and skill, new ingame technology for a faster pace game, fully customizable characters (including gender), and the introduction of Specialist to spice up multiplayer mode.

Others showed a strong interest in Fallout 4 being released the 10th of this month. Fallout 4 is single player, role player game, that takes place in Boston, 210 years after the Great War which was a nuclear war.

Steven Badovych, another student stated, “The post-apocalyptic genre and role playing aspect has always stood out to me. Plus, Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games of all time”. Everyone who showed interest in Fallout 4, like the Black Ops enthusiasts, had a history of enjoying the previous games in the series.

However some people like Nick Levi, from 12th grade, want the game because, “It looks interesting”.  Fallout 4 was also many gamers second choice game when asked what video game they were most excited for.

Other things in Fallout 4 to remain excited for according to Digital Spy are: the creation and customization of settlements, weapons and armor, more advanced character creation system, a bigger world to explore with varying environments, and most importantly the visuals.
