Third Annual Field Day

As Millennium Brooklyn High School’s third annual Field Day approaches, Dean Jason Otto is working hard with Athletic Director Brian Friedman and Coach Brian McCarthy to plan events for May 22nd.

The purpose of Field Day is “to have some fun, to have some community building, and to have some good competition,” said Otto. Field Day was created to indicate the end of the school year, but “it is a little cooler [to have it] in May” rather than June.

Otto hopes that this year’s Field Day will be more successful than last year’s, which was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. Advisory Day was created in its place. He said he looks forward to teaming up with the faculty to beat the students in a game of tug-of-war.

Assistant Principal Kevin Conway planned a separate event for the senior class on Field Day. Seniors will not participate in Field Day with MBHS students, and instead will attend a Senior Breakfast on May 22nd. This includes time to enjoy a meal with their friends and yearbook distribution. Students will be able to get their yearbooks signed by peers and faculty at this time.
