As the Spring Season is starting for MBHS’s sports teams the Ultimate Frisbee team is excited to kick off it’s new season. Having new opportunities and new games the team is excited to take advantage of everything this new season has to offer.

The Ultimate teams coach Emma Groetzinger described how she was excited because they are going to have their first winter practice this season and they have a space a Maccaron Park  where they will be practicing indoors and over the winter throwing and conditioning. She was also excited about the fact that DiscNY, an organization promoting youth ultimate Frisbee will be having a coe-d league that allow our team to play against other coed teams. Hopefully we will be going to one tournament this spring and it be the first time we have traveled as a team.

The captain of the team, junior Cody Maldonado described what he was excited for in the upcoming season, saying “I’m really excited for the new team member I have. A lot of the team was composed of students from Millennium Manhattan, so now the most of the members are solely from Millennium Brooklyn it’s kind of refreshing to see new faces and of course being able to play with other competitive High Schools. Also moving up from being a peer to a  captain is a dramatic change. Setting examples and trying to be a good role model, that way people will be able to lead by example so influencing my peers to behave accordingly and to practice sportsmanship is really important to me.”

This upcoming season will be both a bonding experience for the team members as well as a great way for the team to become stronger through new practice and game experiences.
